#132 Launch Rollercoaster Survival Tips

Hey, everyone! I’m so glad you’re joining us for this episode of Off the Charts because today we’re talking about what it takes to survive a course launch.

Off The Charts Business PodcastWith all of the highs and lows that you experience, it really does feel like an emotional roller-coaster! Here are some tips to help you go with the flow and truly enjoy your results.

Tips To Survive

One of the first things I’ll address is the heart-stopping moment when you find out that someone else has already thought of your stellar idea…just before your course launches.

It’s worth remembering that the more competition there is out there, the more indication you have that there’s actually a market for your services.

How You Might Feel

During a launch, I often turn to crazy obsessive behaviors: checking my email, stats, dashboards, and traffic numbers constantly. One minute I’ve decided to walk away, and the next moment I’m back in keeping tabs on how the numbers are doing.

As it turns out, this addictive behavior is totally a normal part of the average launch mentality.

You might feel like you want to puke before your launch. And no matter how many people show up, you’ll still be sad about it. Although I’ll always wish more had attended, I am truly grateful for everyone who took the time to join in on my launch.

Oh, and burn out will happen during these huge events!  Remember that a launch is a sprint, and be intentional about taking care of yourself during this time.

Stick With It To The End

It’s really important to stick with your well-planned launch through to its finish.  Because chances are, you’ll find yourself wanting to pull the plug on your launch halfway through. Just know that it happens to everyone, myself included.  And don’t give in!

At least 50% of the sales come in at the end, so if you back out, you’ll miss out on the best part.  You might get sick of repeating yourself…but don’t stop.

Lastly, in this podcast episode I also talk about the fact that the results of your launch do not reflect your worth as a human being.  Whether it was a success or a total flop, you have to potential to learn from the experience and make an event greater launch next time.
