#118 How to Overcome Procrastination and Perfectionism As a Creative Person

Off The Charts Business Podcast

Today’s episode is about procrastination and its correlation with perfectionism.

We all deal with procrastination one way or another, and as a business owner, engaging in procrastination on a regular basis can be really deadly because your income is directly tied to the amount of work you complete or the number of projects you finish.

There are many different reasons why we procrastinate, but in my experience, the biggest reason for procrastination among entrepreneurs and other creative people is perfectionism.

We tend to want to create really amazing, high-quality products and services and to have a big impact on the world, so it’s tempting to put things off until all the details are squared away.

But, keep in mind that when you procrastinate, you are doing the world a disservice by not putting your offerings out there.

If you don’t get started, it’ll never get done.

And as creative people, we are always going to have new ideas — even post-launch. For us, nothing will ever be totally perfect. But the great thing about the web is that you can always go back and edit, improve, and re-release your offerings.

Listen in as Nathalie shares her strategies for fighting against procrastination as a creative business owner.
