Off The Charts Business PodcastIn episode 20 of the podcast, we’re talking about how to look good in pictures for your website.

One of the advantages of having a personal brand is that people can connect with you as a person. But it can be tough to convey who you are in a split second that it takes someone to land on your website.

That’s why I believe that the photos you have on your website really impact your brand.

In fact, if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on web design, you can usually elevate the professionalism of your brand just by having really high quality photos of yourself.

This is great, Nathalie! I would also recommend – if you’re not working with stylist – try on several outfits and have someone snap some informal photos of you in them. Just checking yourself out in the mirror isn’t enough. (Good) Photography is expensive, and you don’t want to be disappointed with your photos because there’s something about what you’re wearing that didn’t quite work out.

As a rule for photos, LESS IS MORE. In real life, you want to be fully accessorized, but dial it back to only one accessory for photos. Easy on the patterns as well; the majority of the focus should be on your face, conveying a message to your prospects.

PS – “rockstar librarian,” eh? I totally see it ;)
