Social Media Time Management Tools

Social media is a great way to connect with more people and boost your business connections… but one thing is often lacking when we get started: social media time management tools and techniques.

I’ve been on both sides of the social media pendulum:

  1. Being super social media obsessed and spending most of my day posting and reading.
  2. Not being active enough, losing traction, and just being disconnected from social media in general.

Neither of these options is healthy for your business, especially if you want to cultivate good relationships with potential clients or customers… and you want to stay in touch with your business peers and mentors too.

So what’s a girl to do? Watch this social media time management tools and tips video to find out.

Social Media Time Management Tools, Tricks, and Tips

Social Media Time Management Tools – Buffer App

One of my favorite social media management tools is a little app called Buffer. This program integrates with Twitter and Facebook to help you curate and post relevant content on a more consistent basis.

Instead of logging into your social media accounts every hour to post more often, you can simply “top up” your Buffer.

You can choose how often you want posts to be sent, whether you want your content to go to all your social media accounts or just one of them. You’ll also have the ability to add pages directly to your Buffer when you’re on them, using the free Buffer add-on for your browser.

Overall, Buffer is a great way to keep your accounts active, fresh, and filled with great content. Especially because not everyone is online at the same time as you, so you need to post more frequently to catch them.

Social Media Time Management Tricks and Tips

My other social media time management tips don’t require any special apps or tools, just a little dedication. They are:

  1. When you do login to your social media accounts, be active and participate. Reply, comment, share. Make your time count and don’t just read passively, otherwise you’re wasting your time and not making the most of what social media was designed for. It also ensures you don’t look like a robot!
  2. Schedule time sensitive posts ahead of time. If there’s the potential that you might forget to post something important on a given date, then schedule it ahead of time. This works if you’ll be away on vacation, too!
  3. Finally, take at least one day away from social media. I like to do a full digital break on either Saturday or Sunday to recharge and disconnect. I feel like my best ideas and insights come when I’m fully engaged with the people in my life, and when I’m not thinking about my emails or my social media updates.

That’s it, that’s all folks!
